What is Quality?
* Fit for use
* The totality of features and characteristics of a product or service that bear on its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs
* The degree to which customer expectations (implicit and explicit) have been met
5 Types of Quality?
* Personal quality
* Dept/Team quality
* Product quality
* Service quality
* Company quality
Quality & Expectation?
* Good if it meet or exceeds expectation
* Poor if it does not meet our expectation
The more individuals that produce high quality in a department, the better the department and company quality image will be.
Why is the Quality Important?
* The Economic Imperative
* The Legal Imperative - Quality failures can cripple companies and even cause them to go bankrupt
* The Marketing Imperative
* The Survival Imperative
1) Understand customer's requirements
2) Understand well the processes of your business
3) Avoid duplicate work and non-value adding activities in the processes.
4) Focus your effort on continual improvement of processes and customer satisfaction. Do not focus on paper work only.
5) Generate more data, more analysis
